Part of a
bigger
LOOP

No company can achieve a Circular Economy by itself. We are all a part of a bigger loop within our Value Chains.

In ready2LOOP, we have defined seven key Value Chain layers for manufacturing companies to make a successful transition to Circular Economy.

For instance, if you are a component manufacturer, you depend on your materials provider to make more circular choices, while your actions directly impact the choices of your customers (i.e. product manufacturers).

ready2LOOP enables you not only to implement circularity in your company, but also to enhance the overall readiness of your entire Value Chain, both upstream and downstream.

And you can do it for free.

But how does it work?

Usual timeframe: 30-45 minutes

You start the process by completing the Circular Readiness Assessment. The assessment consists of a number of questions across multiple areas of your business, in order to create a comprehensive image of your company’s circular readiness.

Based on these results, a Readiness Profile is compiled, which gives you an overview of your company’s strengths and weaknesses.

You might also consider organising (or joining) a Readiness workshop, together with colleagues from your company. Here, you can share examples and cases, whilst your colleagues and you complete the Circular Readiness assessment together.

Features available:

  • Readiness Assessment
  • Benchmarking (external & internal)

Usual timeframe: 60-90 minutes

Based on your Circular Readiness profile, we help you prioritise and select one or more dimensions to focus on, when transitioning to circularity. This can either be a dimension you are very ready in and would like to exploit, or a dimension where you might need some further improvement, to boost your readiness.

The key is, to use this prioritisation as an action plan for where and how you want to initially make a change in your company. ready2LOOP then provides you with a transition path that lays out the steps and tools needed to increase your readiness for Circular Economy.

Features available:

  • Company profile analysis
  • Prioritisation suggestions

Usual timeframe: 1-6 months

Here, the transition begins! Following the plan of action you decided, when charting your Transition path, the implementation of your Circular Economy transition strategy begins.

Depending on the amount of dimensions you choose to focus on and the magnitude of effort you have chosen, this step will take from a few weeks to a few months.

After this step, it is a good idea to update your Circular Readiness assessment, to chart the change in readiness and maybe iterate by defining a new Transition path.

Features available:

  • A library of 100+ transition tools

Usual timeframe: Long-term collaborations

Circularity cannot be achieved alone. It is vital that the whole value chain is encorporated, in order to ensure e.g. circular-optimised materials, upgradable components, a logistics partner that can take care of both forward and reverse logistics, and so forth.

ready2LOOP can help to ensure that you identify value chain partners, both upstream and downstream to your company. We can also assist in the collaboration between value chain partners, to ensure the circular transition is both viable and sustainable.

Need extra help?

Once you have completed your Circular Readiness Assessment, you may reach out to us to establish an Accelerator programme. (available after sign-in)

With an Accelerator, you get personalised help in your transition from one of our authorised consultancies, to truly hone in on your needs and establish a customised Transition Path to reach your goals.

1 Engage key stakeholders

Usual timeframe: 30-45 minutes

You start the process with a short kick-off meeting, aimed at aligning expectations between you and a authorised ready2LOOP consultant.

On the basis of this, the transition process will be scoped and planned, together with the authorised consultant.

2 Circular Readiness assessment

Usual timeframe: 3 hours, onsite

If you decide to engage one of our authorised ready2LOOP consultants, we recommend organising and running a half-day workshop with you and your colleagues (20-30 colleagues is often a good number). You can choose to organise a Circular Readiness assessment workshop as a cross-company initiative, or within a particular business unit.

The consultant will choose relevant cases to your business and use these to lead you and your colleagues through the Readiness assessment exercise, at the same time, facilitating the dialogue around the readiness of your company and/or business unit(s).

3 Reflect on strengths and gaps

Usual timeframe: 30-60 minutes, onsite

Usually held as part of the Circular Readiness assessment workshop, this exercise focuses on identifying where and why your company/business unit is particularly strong and where the gaps are, for readiness improvements to be made.

The online Circular Readiness assessment tool provides a comprehensive set of improvement recommendations, which can form the basis of the work to go ahead with, in your company.

4 Identify improvement opportunities

Usual timeframe: 1-2 hours, onsite

Once you understand your Circular Readiness profile, including your strengths and gaps, our authorised consultants can help you prioritise and select one or more dimensions to focus on, when transitioning to circularity. This can either be a dimension you are very ready in (a strength) and would like to exploit, or a dimension where you might need some further improvement (a gap), to boost your readiness.

The result of this step is to end up with one or more transition paths to follow.

5 Define an action plan and roadmap

Usual time-frame: 2-3 hours, onsite

This step is normally held as a workshop, together with the previous step of identifying improvement opportunities. Here, you will build on the identified improvement opportunties and build an action plan for where and how you want to initially make a change in your company.

The action plan you will be provided with lays out the steps and tools needed to increase your readiness for Circular Economy, taken from our database of 100+ tools.

Depending on the amount of dimensions you choose to focus on and the magnitude of effort you have chosen, you can expect the subsequent transition process to take from a few weeks to a few months; it’s therefore important to take care and consideration with the roadmap.
